Believe it or not, Jordan and Ashlyn met on well known dating app, Bumble. They matched and immediately began chatting, each sharing their most recent travel experience. Ashlyn remembers the conversation as easy and fun. Jordan says he thought it wasn’t real because it was April Fools day! After hitting it off, Jordan quickly asked Ashlyn out to dinner to explore their connection, and see if she was real.

Jordan told Ashlyn to meet him at 13th St Pub & Grill in the north end of Boise for dinner. Ashlyn arrived early and sat down on a bench outside waiting. Shortly after, Jordan walked up and greeted Ashlyn with a hug. They went inside where Jordan informed the hostess that he had a reservation, earning brownie points with Ashlyn. For drinks, Ashlyn ordered a glass of the house red and Jordan asked for a Diet Coke, because unbeknownst to Ashlyn, his license was expired so he couldn’t order the Blue Moon he really wanted. After ordering dinner, the conversation really started to flow. Three hours in they realized the restaurant was closing down, and it was time to say good-bye. Jordan walked Ashlyn to her car, gave her an awkward side-hug and walked home to his apartment near by. Ashlyn got in her car and started her drive home, thinking it went well but not sure how Jordan felt. About ten minutes later, Jordan texted Ashlyn confirming he felt the same. They were both smitten.

A couple of years later, on a family Labor day weekend trip in Donnelly, Idaho, Jordan popped the big question. He planned the most fabulous and secret proposal, and everyone was in on it; the kids, Ashlyn’s family and friends, had all known it was going to happen and had helped make sure it went off without Ashlyn picking up on anything. Sam and Shea had secretly planned a spa day to get Ashlyn away from the cabin. They spent their afternoon relaxing, and then “impromptu” decided to get appetizers and drinks at the bar at Shore Lodge, (it was really so they could kill time for the proposal). On the drive back, they blasted early 2000s pop hits, and Ashlyn sang her heart out completely unaware of what was about to happen. Once they arrived at the cabin, Makenna came up to Ashlyn saying that Jordan was down on the dock and needed her. Ashlyn didn’t think much of it, until Makenna very deliberately said it again. Ashlyn looked out the window, saw what was so clearly the proposal set up and immediately knew what was happening. She started laughing as she walked down to the dock, in disbelief that Jordan did so well keeping it a secret to surprise her. The dock was lined with candles and rose petals, leading all the way up to the end where Jordan stood waiting to ask her to be his wife. Ashlyn said yes and they spent the night celebrating with a lovely salmon dinner and ice cream sundae bar that Jordan coordinated, (Ashlyn’s favorites).
